Rocky Mountain Featherbed was founded in the late 1960s in the United States, creating down vests for cowboys featuring a leather yoke inspired by Native American leather capes. In 1974, the brand adopted Gore-Tex—the most advanced technical fabric at the time—to produce down vests renowned for warmth comparable to that of featherbeds. The brand eventually disappeared in the late 1980s.
After more than 20 years of collecting and studying vintage Rocky Mountain Featherbed garments, the Japanese company 35 Summers Co., Ltd. completed a revival of the brand in 2005, producing recreations that surpass the originals. To this day, they continue to craft unmatched down products that carry forward the brand’s traditional values while infusing them with modernity, allowing wearers to experience its timeless appeal.
